Nine services, three questions.
They are listed in order of question, not alphabetically: first what helps to understand, then what is needed to treat, then those who are neither dog nor cat, and last what makes him leave here better than he came in.
01 — To understand
Before treating, measure.
Consultations
General consultations and nine specialist consultations, from dermatology to obstetrics. And blood pressure measured at every consultation, whatever the age of the dog or cat — which catches hypertension before it shows.
Blood tests
Blood-testing equipment in the clinic itself: the result arrives in a few minutes.
Urine and fluid analysis, myelography, cytology and histopathology are also available.
Ultrasound
Sometimes it is needed. The clinic has up-to-date ultrasound equipment, and vets trained for it.
Dermatology
A specialist consultation. Frequent itching, alopecia, heavy hair loss, wounds, allergies, recurring ear infections.
It is the clinical director’s own field, with a certified postgraduate qualification (GPCert in Veterinary Dermatology, ISVPS) — which is what allows her to run specialist consultations here, on an ambulatory basis and as a consultant for other clinics.
02 — To treat
The part that gets prepared.
Vaccination
The most suitable vaccination programme for your dog or cat is set with the clinic’s vets.
It covers distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvovirus, kennel cough, rabies, leishmaniasis, babesiosis and coronavirus in dogs; panleukopenia, leukaemia, feline infectious rhinotracheitis and calicivirus in cats; viral haemorrhagic disease and myxomatosis in rabbits.
Soft-tissue surgery
An equipped surgical theatre, with comfort and support for the animal, and recovery. Vets trained for soft-tissue surgical procedures.
Dental scaling
Treating the mouth and teeth prevents other health problems. Every scaling here is followed by dental polishing.
03 — Neither dog nor cat, and those who cannot come
The two new services.
Exotics
With a vet who specialises in exotic animals. The service opened in response to the many requests the clinic was receiving.

Home visits
Consultations at home, for owners who live in Lisbon and cannot get to the clinic.
